The Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) Spectrometer Complex

for measuring the number of paramagnetic centers in an investigated material by detection of the first and second ESR absorption signal derivatives in a wide microwave power range upon high- or low-frequency modulation of a magnetic field at different temperatures.

спектрометр РЭ–1307

Specification

The complex comprises

  • SE/X-2544 X–range spectrometer, Radiopan (Poland);
  • RE–1307 X–range spectrometer, Pilot Plant of Scientific Instrumentation, Chernogolovka, Moscow oblast (Russia);
  • RE–1308 Q–range spectrometer, Pilot Plant of Scientific Instrumentation, Chernogolovka, Moscow oblast (Russia), equipped with an additional cryostat for measurements in the temperature range 4.2−300 K.

All the spectrometers are automated and equipped with appropriate software. The complex is intended for studying the exchange and superexchange interactions in dielectric crystals, magnetic and structural phase transitions, internal local crystal fields of the magnetoactive centers and their symmetry properties.

The ESR facilities were used for determination of the total accumulated dose of ionizing radiation a person receives.
